Bidayuh Golf Goes Highland
Not even dull weather and scattered shower could dampen the spirit of Bidayuh golfers today at Borneo Resort Golf and Country Club. Even though the tee-off was delayed by half an hour, it was well worth the wait. Some commented that because so many of the golfers are beginners and some met for the first time, it is fitting as in the local tradition that the tournament was met by rain and showers…a sign of good luck! ‘Dukun’ JS for once was powerless to turn the cloud away.
Out of 55 golfers however only 16 are entitled for top prizes. In an unprecedented tradition, for once the organiser could win. Unheard of in the past even though that flight was infested by newbies! So much for the high level of focus displayed by PP.
Every golfer had such a good time I must say. Many recorded high numbers but such is the challenges at this scenic golf course. The beauty offers demand straight shooters. Errant shot are punished severely as JS can be the ‘suffering’ witness. With the rain cooling the air, the view was simply majestic. But do not let the beauty fool you. The course demand accuracy!
Word has it that the winners will automatically represent Bidayuh in the coming Inter-Community Golf next month.
We must thank our sponsors who made this happen and look forward to many more of these outing in the coming years. Most of all we thank the organiser for the job well done!
